Christ Lutheran Preschool

Christ Lutheran Preschool is the first preschool in Avon Lake to be awarded a Five Star Rating through the Step Up to Quality Program from the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. Step Up to Quality (SUTQ) is Ohio’s quality rating and improvement system for licensed learning and development programs. Each Step Up to Quality level, from one to five stars, assures parents that teachers and administrators at the center meet criteria such as 20 hours of specialized training every two years, action plans for classroom improvements, reflecting the State of Ohio’s Early Learning and Development Standards in lesson plans and working together with families. Christ Lutheran Preschool received the highest rating because additionally their teachers are highly educated, they have low teacher/child ratios, they measure a child’s progress, they set goals with parents for their child and they continuously work to improve the quality of the experience that is offered to the children and their families.

Christ Lutheran Preschool has served 3 to 5 year olds for over 50 years and has 100 students currently enrolled. It is also proud to be the only Christian based preschool in Avon Lake. The spiritual development of the children is an important part of the curriculum. In addition to learning prayers, songs and stories from the Bible, they learn the wonder of God and the love that Jesus has for each of us.
